À propos de moi
Hello there! My name is Fritz and I live in that tropical country called the Philippines. My first experience with musical theatre was I guess when my mother let me watch the musical films Mary Poppins, Oliver!, The Sound of Music, and The King and I. I remember enjoying watching them but never really thought of getting hooked. I was just little then. But then high school came and I was introduced to musical theatre on stage. There was this school production of four different shows performed by students from different year levels. I do remember one teacher mentioning one of them in a language I didn't understand (later on I realised it was Les Misérables). Then not long after my class had to perform some shows in our English class that I began my love for this form of art.
The passion for this form of art started when my high school classmates performed the highlights of ALW's The Phantom of the Opera in 2002. I really didn't care much about how they played it. I was mesmerised by the music. Indeed, the Overture brought chills down my spine. Then, I started finding out about it, reading Gaston Leroux's masterpiece, watching film adaptations and YouTube videos. I looked for a copy of the libretti, downloaded bootleg recordings, mp3s, and videos... The rest is history. Then came Les Misérables, the one show that that teacher mentioned I didn't understand. I was actually introduced to the musical in 2002 as well after being introduced to ALW's The Phantom of the Opera. My first experience of it was the original London cast. I didn't become an instant fan. What made me a die-hard fan was the Tenth Anniversary Concert at the Royal Albert Hall. It has the perfect cast and it's the perfect way to be introduced to this mega hit musical. What sealed my love for it is Philip Quast as Javert.
Now how did I get into trading? It began after I saw my very first musical show live -- what else? The Phantom of the Opera. I was very fortunate to see the show twice during its Manila run in 2012. In one of those instances, I managed to record an audio of the full show, posted about it on Tumblr, and decided to share it through trading. So yeah I'm here, trading since 2012. Like any other beginner in this community, I depended on audio gifts and my one master recording to expand my collection. Everybody has been kind and helpful, though I did experience one or two disappointing dealings with others. But that didn't discourage me to continue discovering how wonderful this community has been and is and discovering more shows to love and shows that now has been my favourite.
So to everyone who enters this site, you are very welcome to navigate the list of audio recordings of shows I accumulated by trading. Do not ever hesitate to ask questions or contact me. I would gladly entertain any request. Just bear with me on replying though because my connection in these parts are frequently and annoyingly unstable.
